Wild Rice Soup

Directions:
- Dice the following:
- 1 large onion
- 6-8 celery stalks
- 6-8 carrots
- 1/2 clove garlic
- 1 - 1 1/2 cups ham
- 1 1/2 - 2 cup chicken
- Add vegetales to 6-7 quarts of chicken stock and cook until vegetables are tender
- Add spices to taste
- 1 or 2 teaspoons dry mustard
- 2 or 3 teaspoons dry parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon sweet basil
- salt and pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon tarragon
- 1/4 teaspoon tumeric
- 1 bay leaf
- Sliced toasted almonds
- Add 1/2 pound wild rice to mixture (boil and rinse 3 times until rice is tender)
- Make a roue with 1/4 pound a butter and enough flour to make a consistency resembling cake or brownie mix
- Let the soup mixture cool for a while and add slowly 1 pint half and half
